MEET SAMANTHA:
Samantha’s innate empathy and compassion drive her work as a therapist. Her ability to connect with others on an emotional level is a cornerstone of her approach to psychotherapy. Motivated by a genuine desire to help people navigate their emotional challenges, Samantha is dedicated to providing support and understanding to her clients.
Samantha's commitment to mental health and cultural competency is deeply rooted in her educational and personal experiences. Currently pursuing her masters in psychotherapy, Samantha's clinical approach has been profoundly influenced by her coursework, particularly her cultural competency course under the guidance of Dr. Stephanie Winkeljohn Black. This course has broadened her understanding of cultural differences and commonalities, reinforcing her belief in the importance of remaining open and accepting in her practice.

In addition to her studies and therapeutic training, Samantha currently serves as a Registered Behavioral Therapist (RBT), specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. In this role, she works primarily with children diagnosed on the autism spectrum, ranging in age from 2 to 17 years old. Samantha's experience includes delivering ABA therapies in various settings, including schools, homes, and community environments. Her approach is grounded in operant conditioning principles, and she emphasizes a comprehensive, systems-based perspective in her work. By integrating therapeutic interventions within the broader contexts of her clients' lives, Samantha aims to foster meaningful progress and support their development across different environments.
Outside of her professional life, Samantha indulges in her passion for baking. She finds joy in experimenting with various recipes, from breads and pastries to cookies and cakes. The meticulous process of perfecting a recipe and the artistry involved in decorating her creations are activities she cherishes. Additionally, Samantha is an enthusiastic foodie, always eager to explore new restaurants and cuisines, often accompanied by her loved ones.
A significant part of Samantha’s personal life is her beloved tuxedo cat, Mr. Mittens. An animal lover at heart, Samantha's bond with Mr. Mittens reflects her nurturing and caring nature. Her love for animals and her appreciation for the companionship they provide add a warm dimension to her life, balancing her professional pursuits with personal fulfillment.
