MEET MAHEEN:

You deserve a space where you can feel understood, supported, and fully yourself. Maheen warmly welcomes individuals, couples, and families into her office, creating an environment that feels comfortable, collaborative, and free of judgment. She works especially closely with children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as the important relationships and family systems surrounding them. Whether you are navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, family conflict, questions of identity, or a major life transition, Maheen offers a steady place to slow down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and begin moving forward with greater confidence and clarity.

Therapy with Maheen is deeply personal, collaborative, and tailored to you. Grounded in a person-centered and strengths-based approach, she integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-sensitive care, and a whole-person perspective. Rather than reducing people to symptoms or diagnoses, Maheen seeks to understand the experiences, relationships, strengths, and patterns that have shaped who they are. She helps clients explore difficult emotions with curiosity, recognize patterns that may no longer serve them, strengthen relationships, and develop meaningful ways of responding to life's challenges. Her clinical interests include ADHD, autism, eating disorders, mood concerns, self-esteem, peer relationships, developmental transitions, and family dynamics.

For couples and families, Maheen recognizes that challenges rarely exist in isolation. Communication difficulties, changing family roles, developmental transitions, and emotional or behavioral concerns can affect everyone within a relationship or household. Her goal is to help people feel heard while strengthening the relationships that matter most. She approaches these conversations with warmth, cultural sensitivity, and compassionate challenge, honoring the identities and lived experiences each person brings into the room. Whether working with one person or an entire family, Maheen believes meaningful change begins with genuine connection and the experience of being truly understood.

Maheen brings warmth, curiosity, and an authentic sense of humanity to her work. Her fascination with psychology began early—sparked, fittingly, by Inside Out and its exploration of the role emotions play in our lives. Outside the office, she is a classically trained singer, enjoys embroidery and cross-stitch, loves her cat despite its firm refusal to learn tricks, and proudly maintains a growing collection of ducks for her Jeep. These small joys reflect something central to how Maheen approaches therapy: growth can be meaningful without losing warmth, personality, or playfulness along the way. Her hope is that every client leaves therapy feeling more connected to who they are, more resilient in facing what comes next, and more confident that they do not have to navigate it alone.
