MEET LYDIA:

     Lydia Ricks is a compassionate mental health professional currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Millersville University. She is committed to helping clients navigate personal challenges with empathy, respect, and patience, fostering growth and healing in their lives.

     Familiar with approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Lydia integrates techniques like Socratic questioning and mindfulness to support clients in gaining insight into their thoughts and emotions. Her work focuses on individuals facing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, women's mental health challenges, and addiction. Lydia is also a proud advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community.

  • Lydia’s academic foundation is complemented by practical experience, including her time as a student therapist at Millersville University and her internship at Meadowood Senior Living, where she conducted cognitive and mood assessments and assisted with discharge planning. Her undergraduate thesis, Designing a Dementia Prevention Program for Young Adults, reflects her innovative approach to mental health care.

    Outside of work, Lydia enjoys exploring trails in Lancaster County and staying active. She also loves cooking and baking for family and friends, finding joy in fostering connections and creating meaningful experiences. Lydia is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of her clients and advancing mental health care.
