MEET KAYLISHA:

Kaylisha Estevez creates a safe, confidential and judgment-free environment for all those entering her office.  It’s hard to reach out for help, and she is honored to join individuals, couples, children and teenagers on their journey to heal.  With a genuine and evidence-based approach to therapy, Kaylisha works with anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, and overcoming trauma and anger.  Her mental health background includes working in a therapeutic support staff role.  Kaylisha is honored to have seen individuals with severe mental health diagnoses work on a road to recovery.  She welcomes all into her office and helps individuals find their path of happiness and joy without being defined by their mental health diagnosis or trauma history. 

From the start of her collegiate journey, Kaylisha was drawn to learn what makes for a productive therapy experience.  Her professor Dr. Hardner’s course on “Human Diversity” inspired her to begin learning about cultural competence and its importance in her clinical practice.  Kaylisha welcomes individuals of all backgrounds: including working with the LGBTQ+ community, child & teenager therapy, grief and loss, mood disorders, communication difficulties, moving past your trauma history, and behavioral challenges. Her clients appreciate her sensitive while direct approach and describe Kaylisha as being empathetic, passionate and kind. 

  •         Whether you are struggling daily, or want to fine tune small changes in your life - Kaylisha welcomes you into her office. She uses a strengths-based perspective, while integrating cognitive behavioral therapy when working to create effective treatment plans for her clients.  She believes that everyone has the inner strengths to make the changes they desire in their life, and recognizes her role is to acknowledge each of her client’s strengths.  She empowers her clients to build on the resiliency that is already within themselves.  Kaylisha takes pride in developing a genuine and trusting connection with her clients.

           Kaylisha is dedicated to serving marginalized populations and secures sliding scale session spots for clients with a need.  She believes that everyone deserves a person to confide in, and is honored to hold space for hearing people’s stories and learning the direction that they want to go in their lives.  Her most influential book about mental health is “The Body Keeps the Score” by Bessel van der Kolk.  This book allows Kaylisha to provide more psychoeducation to her clients about how trauma impacts both their mind and body.  Kaylisha knows the courage that it takes to reach out for help, and she looks forward to partnering with her clients on their therapy journey. 

            Kaylisha prioritizes her free time outside -- you’ll find her biking, hiking, swimming and recharging with relaxation.  She recently has been learning to improve her cooking skills, including making more creative dinners, and baking endeavors.
