MEET JOSH:
Earnest and inquisitive, Josh brings a sense of adventure into his counseling sessions. Whether you are looking to work individually or in relationship to others, Josh honors the vulnerability and celebrates the victories of each participant. He understands that therapeutic work is both challenging and rewarding. His personal and professional experience have taught him that while there is danger in our dark places, there is also treasure.
His love of variety is reflected in his work as a therapist. Josh employs an eclectic blend of transpersonal, narrative, and systems therapy which is non-pathologizing and evidence-based. He engages clients with interactive feedback, open-minded curiosity, and humor, while holding compassion for the heavy work of trauma integration and relationship repair. His work incorporates mind, heart, and body. When appropriate, Josh is fond of using metaphors, visual aids, movement, and interactive objects as therapeutic tools during his sessions.

Josh is a graduate of Lehigh and Kutztown universities with specialized training on the neurology, psychology, and pharmacology of addictions and co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar diagnoses, ADHD, schizophrenia, and personality disorders. Josh is trained in manualized cognitive processing therapy for trauma. He is a skilled group therapist for addiction recovery, grief, burnout, and career transitions.
Josh has completed advanced graduate training in narrative deconstruction, social justice, and spiritually-integrated psychotherapy and his work is informed by the intersections of privilege and oppression. He is confident exploring moral, and spiritual concerns with clients in a way that is both non-directive and productive. Josh is also equipped to explore the profound nature of psychedelic experiences and the ruptures of religious trauma.
As an LGBTQIA+ affirming counselor, Josh celebrates the full spectrum of human identity and expression. He welcomes individuals who are transgender, non-binary, and genderfluid while providing support to couples, ethically non-monogamous partnerships, polyamorous constellations, and other relationship configurations.
Josh is living proof that the paths we walk towards joy and satisfaction are rarely straight lines. He has worked as a visual and performing artist, an academic instructor, and a community organizer. He has been both client and counselor. He is grateful to every twist and turn for enriching his personal experience and his professional work as a counselor.
Josh is a lover of food, philosophy, and art. He is an avid reader and writer. You will often find him in the kitchen inventing tasty (he hopes!) recipes, or in the living room battling with his 15-pound shih tzu. Josh enjoys playing board games with his wife and friends. He also attends a historical European martial arts club where he trains and spars with the German longsword.
